The next selectmen’s meeting is Monday, June 26, starting at 5:30pm. This is a regular meeting.

We will also meet on Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening (June 27 and June 28), in non-public sessions, to interview the five “finalists” for the permanent town administrator position.

Monday’s meeting is the first one we’re having with the organizational assistance of Lee Mayhew, the new interim town administrator. Lee is planning a one-page agenda that will allow us to wrap up by 9:30pm. That would be a good change!

Here are some of the agenda items that may be of interest. There is a link (to the left) for the full agenda, which should be up on the town website prior to the meeting.

1. Cleaning and maintenance for the new police facility will be discussed again.
   
   
2. Primex, the town’s liability insurance carrier, is coming in to discuss why the town is facing a 30% rise in our liability insurance premiums.
   
   
3. We’ll discuss the potential fire/ambulance merger.
   
   
4. The discussion of “tax and budget philosophy” will continue. The objective is to set some preliminary spending targets so department heads can start working on the 2007 budget.
