Current Issues and Thoughts
July 23, 2006

The next selectmen’s meeting is Monday, July 24, starting at 5:30pm. This is a regular meeting.

Once again we have an extremely short agenda, with only 10 action items.

I have a post up on the blog listing a whole range of "big" policy issues that are awaiting discussion by the selectmen. I want to say "thank you" to the participants out there who have made thoughtful additions to this list of policy matters. Based on Monday's agenda, it looks like we'll continue to leave these matters for the future.

Here are some of the agenda items that may be of interest. There is a link (to the left) for the full agenda, which should be up on the town website prior to the meeting.

  1. We’ll discuss the local public access cable TV budget for 2007. There is nothing in our meeting packet so I don't know what is being proposed, and whether the proposal will include any additions to the service.

  2. We'll review a proposal from the new Water and Sewer Commissioners for a reorganization of Water/Wastewater Departments.
Although this isn't on the agenda, I expect we will discuss, in non-public session, the continuing process for hiring a permanent Town Administrator.

Thanks for participating! Please email me, call me or post on the blog if you have any questions, comments or thoughts.
